TRACY ANNE WRIGHT (Principal / Musical Director) - Right of Picture

Tracy started singing lessons at the age of 9 after being ‘spotted’ in a school performance. She soon discovered her love of music and started developing her studies further on Piano and Clarinet. She decided to take her singing more seriously when she was awarded the Alcester Singers Young Musician of the Year award in 1987 which included an award for advanced Singing Tuition at the Birmingham Conservatoire. She then achieved her Grade VIII Singing (Trinity College London), Grade VIII Voice (ABRSM) and Advanced Certificate in Singing

After sixth Form she accepted a place on the College Diploma Course at the City of Leeds College of Music as a first study singer and second study pianist where she was also awarded the Leeds Musical Soirees Prize for Singing (1992 & 1993) and the Douglas Robinson Memorial Prize for Opera (1993). In 1993 she continued her studies at the UCE & Birmingham Conservatoire, Graduating with her B.Ed Music Qualified Teacher Status in 1995 and the Jane Crawford Memorial Prize for Achievement in Secondary Education from the University of Central England.

Tracy spent 6 years as a Classroom Teacher of Music at the Kingshurst City Technology College, Birmingham and left her position in 2001 to set up her own Private Teaching Practice and pursue her career as a peripatetic Singing Teacher in schools around Worcestershire, Warwickshire & Birmingham. Alongside her Vocalize Performing Arts Academy business she is now the Full Time Permanent Teacher of Music & Performing Arts at Tudor Grange Academy Redditch, teaching key stage 3,4 & 5.

Tracy has always had a passion for Musical Theatre and wanted to open a local Performing Arts Centre as soon as she completed her studies. In 2009 that Dream became a reality when she opened ‘VOCALIZE PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY’ starting with a few of her local singing students on a Saturday morning. After a very short time the numbers increased and there was a demand for Drama and Dance. By May 2010 Tracy had welcomed a team of tutors to join Vocalize including her ‘Assistant Principal’ Chloe who is now a very close friend.

Tracy continues to perform and take to the stage as a soloist including taking the role of ‘Mrs Potts’ in the ROS production of Beauty and the Beast and she was invited as guest soloist to close the Centenary Celebrations at the Palace Theatre in 2013 hosted by Don Maclean. She was a soloist for many years with the Oakville Singers Cathedral Choir, singing both home and abroad in some of the most prestigious venues including Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral & Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. She has also been booked to sing at many weddings and special occasions.

Tracy has lead a very ‘Musical’ Career so far but she considers her biggest achievement to be the birth of her four Beautiful Children Callum, Lauren, Lewis & Harry and of course her marriage to her Husband & Best Friend Neil xxx
